Pictures - The 'What Happened to my Plans?' Pictures

An Aerogram to Junko (Imanishi) that, as I recall, I didn't get around to sending.

The I Ching. It's funny. I bought this in Calcutta, and for years consulted it in all major areas. It was always right, except twice. Once it told me to go to a place in India that turned out to be bad, also it told me that things would work out with Frank in Hampton Roads... but they didn't.

One day I double checked the hexagrams for some reason, and I found that two of the hexagrams had been misnumbered by the publisher, so at some point I'd been reading the wrong advice.

My old India tee-shirt. I bought it the first time I was leaving India, in patriotism. Then got back and just felt disillusioned about the country. So it's kind of symbolic.

My room in Prince Palace, New Delhi. I think I stayed longer in that hotel than anywhere. Not that trip, but 2002 where I broke down.

But really, it all added to the disillusionment. When I checked out, they tried to overcharge me a night. I realised that they do it to everyone who stays there, as policy. Plus I realised I was paying a commission to a hotel tout. The place just gets you down sometimes.

I was having a clearout before I left India. This was a review of Mother's pub from the local paper.

Delhi Airport.

The Aeroflot plane. Really nice, the company's really improved. Effortless flight.

Stopover in Moscow. This is a poster for their olympic bid. For some insane reason, London got it.

The Moscow to Prague flight.

Prague Airport. My camera broke just after taking this last one.

Cooking in Prague. First time I ever really cooked.

Logo on some instant noodles.

Central Prague. Turned out well; I would have taken more but it was really hard to take them with the camera broken, pieces hanging off ect.

Vending machine in the place I stayed in Amsterdam.

Bah, I struggled to take this last picture of the dining room in the Amsterdam hostel, a piece fell off the camera which I then couldn't find. And... that was the last picture I took.
