Required Information for Relocation

 

·        Is it possible to find out about zonal regulations outside of The Netherlands, i.e. specifically which locations in Amsterdam would allow a hostel to operate, is there any kind of central map.

 

·        Is is possible to open a bank account, either personal or business, with only a temporary address.

 

·        In addition to registering with the business registry and Chamber of Commerce, how do I find out the regulations that specifically apply to running a hotel.

 

·        What kind of references and down-payment are required by landlords/leasing companies.

 

·        Is any kind of special diploma or qualification required to run a commercial hotel.

I’m writing from England after finding your website with interest, as I’m currently in the process of relocating to The Netherlands.

 

I’ve always workin in hospitality and my plan is to rent a three room apartment in Amsterdam and convert it into a hostel for backpackers. I am investing my own (moderate) savings and have already written a business plan. I understand generally the regulations from the Chamber of Commerce, though there are a few things I don’t generally understand. I’ve made a list and am going to the embassy tomorrow to see if I can get any more information.

 

I’m not exactly sure how ACCESS helps people, or how to make use of the database of information. Am I supposed to ask individual questions and someone answers them – or do I explain generally what I’m doing and you either sell information from the database or refer me to a relevant body whom can help? What are the courses which ACCESS sell, and do you think they would be useful to me? I hope to be  in Amsterdam within two weeks.

 

I’m including my list of things I don’t understand. Could you please let me know of anyway that ACCESS could help me with my project?

I am currently putting my savings into a hostel business, which I plan to operate from a (rented) converted apartment. I’ve written a business plan, but there are still a few aspects of the official process of setting up a business in the Netherlands which I haven’t been able to fathom.
