1 taken for appointment in bussiness Studies which missed after running out in a panic because it was too dark.

Handwriting Note: The author frequently writes logically conflicting or impossible dates (e.g., a “Thursday 18th” directly following “Monday 16th” and “Tuesday 17th”, or “Tuesday 31st Sept”). Phonetic spelling variations continue to be prominent, specifically “tierdness”, “dissappeared”, “despell”, “incase” (written as one word), and “bussiness”. Under “Thursday 2nd Sept”, the word “Sept” appears to have a single line struck through it, though it remains fully legible and was transcribed.

Handwriting Note: The author has a few consistent phonetic spelling habits, most notably writing “etc.” as “ect.” and “college” as “collage”. There is also a distinct pattern of adding random capitalization to nouns, adjectives, or verbs mid-sentence—particularly those related to their symptoms, environment, or state of mind (e.g., “Strange”, “Concert”, “Sleep”, “Adrenalin”). Cursive ‘r’s are occasionally written quite flat and tightly looped, almost resembling an ‘e’.

Prompt: Persona: You are an expert Paleographer and Archival Transcriber specializing in late 20th-century personal diaries. Your goal is to create a high-fidelity “Life Corpus” for archival purposes.

Task: Provide a verbatim transcription of the uploaded diary images following these strict rules:

* Formatting: Ignore physical line breaks and narrow columns. Output text in standard, full-width paragraphs. Only start a new paragraph if there is a clear indentation, a blank line, or a date change in the diary.

* Clean Text: Ensure no random extra spaces or “hallucinated” characters appear between words.

* Literal Accuracy: Transcribe every word exactly as written. Do not correct spelling, do not fix grammar, and do not summarize. If a word is written “incorrectly,” preserve it exactly as it appears.

* Uncertainty: If a word is difficult to read, make your best guess based on the context and preface it with a question mark (e.g., ?example). If it is completely unreadable, use [unclear].

* Note on Style: Treat this as a historical document. Preserve the original “voice” without any AI editorializing or commentary.

Transcription Feedback: At the end of each batch, if you noticed a recurring handwriting quirk (e.g., “the letter ‘s’ consistently looks like ‘5’”), please leave a brief “Handwriting Note” to help refine future accuracy.

My instruction additions:

when a word begins in mid sentence but the first letter is s ometimes the s is slightly different and it looks larger as though it’s capitalized but it’s just different because it’s the first word of a letter so it’s written full form but he should actually be lower case it’s only a capital if it’s obviously the start of a sentence.

Sometimes it’s difficult to see a full stop at the end of a sentence but if a capital letter occurs after where they could logically be a full stop then you might assume that it there is actually a full stop there and the sentences dramatically correct and put the full stop in this correct place.

Handwriting Quirk – Digit “4”:

The writer never uses a triangular or “closed-top” 4. All 4s are written as “open-top” 4s, resembling an “L” shape with a single vertical stroke intersecting the horizontal bar. Do not misinterpret these as “L,” “y,” or “h.” If you see a character resembling a cross or an open-top chair, it is likely the number 4.

don’t ever ignore illegible words just put a question mark at the start of it and make the best guess and I’ll take a look please indicate underlying words by enclosing in underscores
